These days, an artist has to be extraordinary and multi-talented to make their name known. One of the most remarkable contemporary musicians is Robbie Williams. His unique face, charismatic personality, and sweet but sexy music style have made him one of the highest earning UK solo musicians of all time.

As millions of fans around the world already know, Robbie Williams started his career as part of the sensational boy band Take That. In the early 1990s, the five talented members of Take That wowed the UK and the rest of the world. Robbie was set to become a giant among pop musicians even at that early stage of his career.

When Take That broke up in 1996, fans all over the globe were stunned. Fans in the UK, especially young girls, were prone to fits of crying and hysteria for weeks after the announcement. The group had been described as the biggest British music act since the Beatles, and their breakup was met with just as much shock and dismay as that of the Beatles.

Fans of Robbie Williams didn’t need to fret for long, though: he launched a solo career in 1996. His first successful solo single was a cover of George Michael’s “Freedom,” and reached the number two spot on the UK charts.

Unfortunately, a life in show business had a similar effect on Robbie to many artists before him. He began to struggle with drug and alcohol abuse, his weight climbed, and he was referred to in the media as unstable and depressed. Eventually Robbie entered rehab to get control of his problems and get his life in order.

Substance abuse and depression were not the only factors that made his solo career start off on a rocky path. After being in a band with four other members, Robbie struggled to find his own musical voice. Not long after the release of his first album, critics wrote his career off as finished for good.

Robbie Williams went on to prove that you can’t keep a good man down. Following his stay in rehab, his fortunes turned around. The release of his album’s fourth single, “Angels,” was met with acclaim all around the world. This song is still thought by many people to be the one that saved Robbie’s career.

On the heels of his first solo album’s success, Robbie released six more studio albums along with several live albums and special compilations. His popularity was and is concrete in the UK, with a fan base made up of both loyal Take That fans from the 1990s and new fans who weren’t around for the first leg of Robbie’s career.

This charming man is the heartthrob of many a teenage girl in the UK and Europe, but he has never found much success in the American market. Despite living in Los Angeles, Robbie’s attempts to make an impression on the United States have been much less successful than he had hoped. Don’t feel bad for Robbie, though: he has been quoted as saying that he enjoys the anonymity of living in LA, whereas in the UK he would never be allowed to walk down the street without being mobbed by fans.

Robbie’s current life and career continue to be as tumultuous and unpredictable as his early days. In early 2007, he underwent another stay in a rehab facility, this time for an anti-depressant addiction. He has been very open about his struggles with depression and has never denied that he has been treated for the condition.

Robbie Williams may be so popular because he refuses to fit into the mold of a typical pop star. He is at once wholesome and naughty; arrogant and insecure; outspoken and demure; sweet and sexy. His music often reflects his battles with the media and his surprise at being considered a sex symbol.

There’s no doubt that Robbie’s status as a legendary British musician has been secured. His success has been won through a lot of hard work and perseverance. What can you expect from Robbie in the future? If his career up to this point is any indication, we all know to expect the unexpected from this dynamic performer.

It is necessary as a singer to take care of your voice, even if this means attending long singing practices on a daily basis. Practice helps the ever hopeful singer to be spotted by a recording studio as well as improving the quality of the voice.

In order to remain in the singing business for even longer, professional singers who have already made their name as performers should still take care of their voice and not let the fact that they have already reached the dizzy heights of fame and fortune allow them to forget how important practicing is. After all, losing their voice quality could rapidly put their career on a downward turn.

For those of you just starting out in singing, taking lessons will not only improve your voice but it will also develop your singing styles. Lessons will show you how to make the very most of your voice and this will open many doors for you.

Professional singers with concerns about the quality of their voice quite often turn to a voice coach. The coach can also help them to maintain their performance levels and this is extremely important, as putting the emotion and meaning into the song matters just as much as being able to belt out a good tune. Another good reason to use a coach is that as a singer, you cannot actually hear yourself sing, so you are unable to notice your own mistakes. The coach can correct the mistakes as you go along, whilst at the same time pointing out improvements you could make on your pronunciation and the way you move your body when you are singing.

When you make the effort to take care of your singing voice you will find you come across different genres in music and begin to experiment with these yourself. This makes you become more versatile in your singing styles and ultimately, more confident in what you are doing.

It is best to start taking singing lessons right at the beginning whether you intend to sing as a hobby or on a professional basis. This is where you will learn your breathing skills, how to use the range of your voice and be made aware of the correct techniques when singing.

Although regular practice is important, it is also essential not to use your voice to excess. You can do this by limiting your practice to reasonable periods which will allow you to maintain an excellent vocal quality. Try to rest you voice before and after a singing session by restricting the amount of talking you do.

If you intend to become a professional your voice will either make or break your singing career. This is the reason why it is imperative to take good care of it and preserve your vocal quality for as long as you can.

Frank Sinatra, also affectionately also known as Old Blue Eyes was probably the most outstanding popular music singer of the 20th century. Sinatra’s only real rivals during those days were perhaps a handful of other singing superstars such as Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald, Elvis Presley, and the fab four or The Beatles.

In a professional singing and acting career spanning more than six decades, Sinatra demonstrated a remarkable ability to maintain his popular appeal to his fans across almost two generations. This is a ringing endorsement of the status of this singing and acting superstar.

Frank Sinatra’s singing career started during the big band swing era of the 1930s and 1940s. His first number one hit on the charts was in 1940 and was still making million-selling recording rights up to 1994.

This superb entertainer was able to take the work of great composers of the 1920s and 1930s, such as Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern , Cole Porter and Richard Rodger and turn their compositions into masterful singing pieces and enshrined them into eternal classics.

Sinatra was the son of a humble fireman and dropped out of high school to pursue a career in singing much to his father’s disappointment. In September 1935, the young Sinatra appeared as part of the singing group, the Hoboken Four on Major Bowes’ Original Amateur Hour show. The quartet won the radio show contest and toured the country with Bowes.

Sinatra then took up a job as a singing waiter and MC at the Rustic Cabin in Englewood, New Jersey. He was singing there in early 1939, when he was talent spotted by trumpeter Harry James, who had organized his own big band after leaving Benny Goodman, which was another famous big band leader of that era. Harry James hired Sinatra as a singer in his band and Frank made his first recording on July 13, 1939.

At the end of 1939, Sinatra accepted an offer from the more popular big band leader Tommy Dorsey. Over the next two and a half years, he was featured on 16 Top Ten hits recorded by Dorsey and his band, amongst them the legendary chart-buster “I’ll Never Smile Again,” and was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

During this while, young Sinatra also performed on various radio shows with Tommy Dorsey and his band. He also appeared with the band in movies such as Las Vegas Nights in 1941 and Ship Ahoy in 1942.

Frank Sinatra started out his solo singing career in early 1942 showcasing his singing talent by recording a four-song session arranged and conducted by Axel Stordahl. One of the songs was Cole Porter’s “Night and Day,” and that song went on to become his first hit chart entry under his very own name.

His big break came from his engagement as a singing support act to Benny Goodman at the Paramount Theatre in New York, which began on New Year’s Eve. This engagement catapulted his singing career and made him the first real teen singing idol, with throngs of girls screaming and swooning in the aisles.

From then on, Sinatra’s singing career never looked back. His singing talent scored him another successful chart topper with “There Are Such Things,” occupying number one position in January 1943. Then in August that same year, the singing superstar did another chart buster with “In the Blue of the Evening”. From then on, Sinatra successfully scored hits after hits with songs such as “It’s Always You,”, “I’ll Be Seeing You,” and “All or Nothing at All”.

Frank Sinatra did many radio shows around that time and in April 1943, he made his first credited appearance in a movie, singing “Night and Day” in Reveille With Beverly which launch his acting career.

This was followed by Higher and Higher in which he played a minor role acting as himself and followed up with another movie, Step Lively which was released in mid 1944 in which he played a larger role. In November 1944, he returned to cutting records, beginning with a cover version of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas” which was again another chart topper. Sinatra then hired Styne and Cahn to write the songs for his first MGM musical, Anchors Aweigh, and over the course of his successful singing career, he recorded more songs by Cahn than by any other songwriter.

Anchors Aweigh, in which Sinatra was paired with Gene Kelly, was released in July 1945 and went on to become the most successful film in 1945. He then went on to appear in many more movies such as MGM musicals On the Town and lower budget ones such as The Kissing Bandit.

At the same time, he continued to hit eight Top Ten hits in 1947 to 1949 which included “Mam’selle,” which hit number one in May 1947, and “Some Enchanted Evening,” from the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical South Pacific.

By 1950s, his singing career was on the decline, but he was still very active. At the fall of 1950 marks his first venture into television. His film work had nearly subsided athough in March 1952 he was featured in the drama Meet Danny Wilson which tested his acting skills on stage which gave him the opportunity to sing some of his greatest songs such as Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer’s “That Old Black Magic,” “I’ve Got a Crush on You” by George and Ira Gershwin, and “How Deep Is the Ocean” by Irving Berlin.

Then in 1955, the singing superstar hit number one again with the single “Learnin’ the Blues” and the 12 inch album, “In the Wee Small Hours “which was later inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Sinatra acted in a television special in November 1965, A Man and His Music, and released a corresponding double vinyl album, which reached the Top Ten chart and also went gold. A Man and His Music won the 1966 Grammy for Album of the Year. Following this release, Old Blue Eyes catapulted back to number one on the singles charts for the first time in 11 years with “Strangers in the Night” in July 1966. This song also won him 2 Grammys for Record of the Year and Best Vocal Performance.

Towards the end of 1966, the singer released two more Top Ten albums, Sinatra At The Sands and That’s Life. In April 1967, he was again number one on the singles charts with “Somethin’ Stupid,” a duet which he sung with his daughter Nancy Sinatra. Frank Sinatra’s Greatest Hits was a compilation of his 1960s singles successes released in August 1968, was a million-seller.

Then in March 1969, perhaps the most recognized Sinatra song, “My Way,” with lyrics specially written for him by Paul Anka was released. This amazing single reached the Top 40, and an album of the same name hit the Top Ten and went gold.

Frank Sinatra then announced his retirement in early 1971 at the age of 55. However, he burst into the limelight again in 1973 with a gold album and a TV special called Ol’ Blue Eyes Is Back. In the twilight of his career, Sinatra cut down on producing albums, acting in movies and television in favor of live concert tours.

For six years, he did not release any albums until March 1980 with a three-LP set, Trilogy: Past, Present, Future. The most memorable track from the trilogy set was perhaps “Theme From New York, New York,” the title song from the 1977 movie.

He returned to Capitol Records in 1993 and recorded Duets, on which he re-recorded his old songs, joined by other popular singers such as Tony Bennett, Elvis Costello, KD Lang and Bono of U2. It became his biggest-selling album selling over three million copies world wide. This was followed up in 1994 by Duets II, which won the 1995 Grammy Award for Traditional Pop Performance.

Frank Sinatra finally retired from acting and performing entertainment when he turns 80 in 1995. He died of a heart attack 2 years later when he was 82. Today, his songs are still heard in concert halls and clubs all over the world.

When he grew up, he would become a well-known singer, song writer, record producer and an actor. His career started in the 1970s and he is still going strong today. Throughout his career, Prince has dabbled in a few different music genres, including rock, rhythm and blues, funk and pop and has always taken control of his own music. In fact, he has been known as a perfectionist where his music is concerned, which is probably why he has composed, produced and performed almost all of his music. Prince would also become known as an artist who was extremely protective over his own music. His need to control the music he created as well as how protective he was over it would cause him trouble in the future, but nothing serious enough to end his musical career.

Prince’s parents went their separate ways when he was fairly young. He did not have a very good relationship with his step father and ran away. He then went to stay with his biological father for a while and it was then that he was given his first guitar. From that point on he practiced and experimented with music until he began his musical career in the mid 1970s. His cousin’s husband, Pepe Willie was a great help to Prince and the start of his musical career. With this help and his determination, Prince went on to release his first album in April of 1978. This album would be the first of many more albums he would release later in his career.

Prince has always been extremely protective of his work, almost to a fault. He even went so far as to change his name to the title of a symbol in the early 1990s when he got into a dispute with the label he was under at the time. He didn’t feel that they were allowing him to fully express himself and experiment with his music. It was the first step he took in order to get out of the contracts he was in, though he would return to his original name later on. He also got into a dispute with YouTube and eBay who were releasing his work without payment or proper authorization, which resulted in copyright infringement.

Prince has had many relationships, but it appears that his love is for his music. His music is what he puts his energy into and this could be a good reason why he is so protective of his work. It is probably why he had a difficult time remaining in contracts under other labels that he felt got in the way of his music. Music is an artistic expression and one cannot blame Prince for wanting to be able to express himself through his music, without the limitations on what he was allowed to do when under contract. Despite this, he would continue his musical career and would win numerous awards, including a few Grammy Awards. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Nirvana was formed in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington and its music genre focused more on alternative rock and grunge. It was a smaller band in size with only three main members, including Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl. Nirvana would be bringing in a big change in music that made them a hit among their audience; unfortunately, the band’s life was short lived due to the demise of Kurt Cobain in 1994. However, Nirvana’s music would continue to be enjoyed and the albums the group put out during its existence are still being sold. The other two members of the band would also continue to release albums of their own and continue their own musical careers.

It took a little time before the band was able to settle on the name Nirvana. There were a few other names the members were contemplating, but they settled on Nirvana as Kurt Cobain wanted a name that was nice and beautiful instead of something ugly and typical. The music they created during the years the band was active was also a reflection of this. From the time they first started putting out music until Kurt Cobain’s death, the music continued to change and remain relatively original. This originality and experimentation with their music was well received by their audience.

Even Kurt himself realized how much their music kept changing and growing when he admitted that many of their first songs were angrier, while their later songs became “poppier” and “happier.” While it was good for the band to have their music so well accepted, Kurt Cobain was a little shy of the attention. He wanted the focus more on their music than on their fans and possible future awards. Apparently, the music meant more to him than anything else, so much so that he worked hard to keep the focus of the band in itself.

It really is unfortunate that the band had such a short run as they were on a good start to having a very successful future. In fact, it is possible that if Kurt had been successful in kicking his addictive and devastating habit the band could have enjoyed many more years of popularity. They could have even possibly won awards and gained far more recognition than they had. As mentioned before, after Kurt Cobain passed away, the other members of the band continued on their own musical career. It seems that Kurt was not the only one who wanted to compose and perform music for others to enjoy.

The surviving members went on to create or join other groups where they could continue doing what they enjoyed. It would seem that while Nirvana was, for the most part, a small band that mainly consisted of three people, these three people were dedicated to their art; music. They enjoyed experimenting with music and creating new sounds that could be shared with an audience. Nirvana’s music, and the subsequent music created and performed by the two surviving members, is new and different music that is still enjoyed by many today.

There are literally hundreds of different musical instruments that a person can learn to master, but too often than not, many forget about the most important musical instrument of them all; their voice.

The human voice is essentially our species’ earliest known musical instrument, and it is capable of an incredible array of harmonies and melodies. Sadly, for whatever reason, many think it is more important to practice playing the guitar than it is to learn how to sing.

Your voice is your key to music superstardom. It will allow you learn a lot about music and how melodies and rhythms come together to form some of the most beloved music our species has ever created. Your voice can reach amazing heights and amazing lows, and all it takes is you practicing how to use it properly.

We all have the ability to sing in us, but some are going to be more skilled at it than others. It is true that some people are tone deaf and simply cannot understand how music works. That is not to say they can’t sing. Everyone can sing, but some can do it better than others.

Our voice is how we express ourselves, even when we think no one is around. How many times have you sung in the shower or in the car to express how you feel at that moment? Ever sang along with a favorite song? Sure you have, everyone has, and that is because singing is the best way we can show what is going on in our minds and souls. We may sing and be horrible at it, but with the song we sing we are telling the world what is going on with us, what we care about and what bothers us.

If you want to have a better voice, all it takes is going to a vocal coach. They will teach you to sing in ways you never thought possible. You will suddenly discover a vast array of vocal ranges you never though existed and you will be elated at the prospect of being able to sing in front of people without having to worry that you will be laughed at or ridiculed. All it takes is you making the step to learn how to sing from a trained vocal coach. Don’t worry about being horrible, they have heard some bad singers and you are unlikely to be the worst.

When you take the steps to learn how to sing. You are beginning on a journey that will allow you to express yourself in a variety of ways that go far beyond how our primitive language can describe the emotions. Singing is the oldest instrument we have and it is the only instrument we carry with us at all times.

You may suck and never hit the high notes of Whitney Houston, but that does not mean you can’t enjoy yourself singing along to her songs. When you are alone in the shower, you sing to your hearts content because you are in your own world and you feel happy. That is the beauty of your vocals. They can bring out your heart and make you smile.

Born September 23, 1930, Ray Charles Robinson would become one of the most famous and influential pianists in the twentieth century. Though he was blind from about the age of seven, he was able to learn how to play and compose music at a school he attended for the deaf and blind. Originally from Greenville, Florida, Ray Charles would become well-known for the many different genres he played in, including Rhythm and blues, country blues, piano blues, pop, soul, country, jazz and gospel, to name a few. He would shorten his name to Ray Charles and would continue to have many hits throughout his musical career.

Though many people may not realize it, Ray Charles was not born blind. It wasn’t until he was seven that he would completely lose his sight. It is thought that his sight could have been lost due to glaucoma, but even today no one is sure. After this, he attended a school for the deaf and blind where he spent much of his time learning how to write music and play many musical instruments, aside from his academic learning. In 1951, Ray Charles had his first successful hit and would sign with Atlantic records in 1952. From there, he would continue to have many more hits and his reputation in the world of music would grow as well. In later years, he was putting out songs that were either a success or not, and he made appearances on film and commercials. Ray Charles was also known for singing and he did vocals for a few different projects as well. Some of his career may have been a little bumpy, as he was not perfect and did have addictions that he later dealt with, but none of this stopped him from becoming a man who will continue to be remembered by history. Much of his difficulties are overlooked by those who continue to enjoy his music.

Today, his music is still being listened to by young audiences, including many young musicians who dream of having a musical successful musical career. He may have been blind, but this did not stop him from becoming one of the many influential musicians of the late 1900s. He was also quite dynamic in that he wrote, played and saying many different genres in music. He was not one to be limited by his lack of sight and he was obviously also not to be limited to one or two specific genres in music. Music was what he loved and he was quite experimental in it, which could also be another reason for his playing and composing pieces in so many different genres.

Ray Charles was 74 when he passed away of liver cancer. He had a long and successful musical career that will be remembered by many for a very long time. The diversity of his work will continue to entertain audiences long into the future, especially as long as the recordings of his music are on the shelves. For any new musician looking for some inspiration, especially in rhythm and blues or jazz, Ray Charles is definitely one of the musicians whose work will be listened to with a keen ear.
