Saxophone Sisters at India’s Got talent: M S Subbalaxmi and M S Lavanya

by admin on February 2, 2010

Found this clip on youtube, they get a really distinct sound on their alto saxophones.  Though I can’t understand most of what they’re saying.  Enjoy!

Saxophone talents Kumari MSLAVANYA & MSSUBBALAXMI are the daughters of Smt. Girija Sainath and Mridhangam Maestro Sri. MR Sainath- Staff artist, All India Radio, Mangalore. Since their childhood, loving the music deeply, at the age of six they started learning vocal music under Sangeetha vidushi Smt. Nagaveni of Mangalore. At the age of 15, they started learning Saxophone from PADMASHRI Dr. KADRI GOPALNATH. And continued higher training at Chennai where Sri KADRI GOPALNATH stayed. Currently they are learning their vocal music under the guidance of KALAIMAMANI Sri .SRIMUSHNAM RAJA RAO Sir and Smt. PADMA CHANDILYAN.
